The RRVW/Bacigalupi scholarship was founded in 2014 in honor of Charles Bacigalupi and will be offered annually to a student concentrating in the field of viticulture or viticulture business. The recipient of the scholarship will demonstrate the qualities that made Charles Bacigalupi an influential part of the grape growing and wine industry: a dedication to agriculture, a passion for grape growing and a commitment to community.

Additionally, members of RRVW may also contribute, and did so this year bringing the total scholarship award for 2015 to $3000.

“We are thrilled to be able to continue to do our part in supporting our local students and help future generations achieve their dreams of carrying on family businesses,” said RRVW Manager, Shannon Wesley. “Viticulture, and agriculture in general, is such an integral part of our County, and we need to support future generations to ensure the wine and grape growing industry continues to be strong and sustainable.”
