Our family has been farming grapes in the Russian River Valley since 1956. Now, with three generations of dedication to the land, Bacigalupi Vineyards has earned a reputation as one of the finest sources of fruit.
In 2011, we released our new label: Bacigalupi. Currently available is the Bacigalupi 2012 Chardonnay and Bacigalupi 2012 Pinot Noir. Both wines are very limited production and only available directly from the winery.
“The medium to full-bodied 2012 Chardonnay Bacigalupi Vineyard exhibits crisp minerality along with notes of pineapple and orange blossom as well as a steely, wet gravel-like character with the oak pushed to the background. Enjoy it over the next 4-6 years.
Bacigalupi’s vineyard has an interesting history as the vines were grafted from the original vineyard that supplied the grapes for the 1973 Chateau Montelena Chardonnay. Readers may recall that this wine won the historic 1976 Paris tasting that in one day put California wines on the world’s map of quality. Bravo!” – Robert Parker
"Bottled unfined and unfiltered, the 2012 Pinot Noir Bacigalupi Vineyard reveals a feeble light garnet color and an aromatic profile that is a dead-ringer for a Domaine Dujac, meaning plenty of forest floor, plum, anise and sweet currant scents. While it may look wimpy, it certainly doesn’t taste that way. The classic, Cote de Nuits-like flavors, soft tannins and abundant fruit suggest it should be drunk in its first 3-4 years of life. “- Robert Parker
